What are the advantages and disadvantages of MEMS accelerometer compare with quartz accelerometer?

Advantages of MEMS accelerometer:

1. Small size and light weight: easy to integrate into miniaturized equipment.

2. Low cost: suitable for large-scale production and wide application, reducing the system cost.

3. Low power consumption: helps to extend the use time of battery-powered devices.

4. Good consistency in large-scale production: easy to large-scale production, product performance is more consistent.

Disadvantages of MEMS accelerometer:

1. Relatively low accuracy: the demand may not be met in some applications with high accuracy,

2.  Poor temperature stability: performance may be greatly affected in an environment with large temperature changes.

3. Narrow measurement range: Compare with quartz accelerometer, the acceleration range that can be measured may be smaller.

Advantages of quartz accelerometer:

1. High precision: it can provide very accurate measurement results.

2. High stability: insensitive to changes in temperature, humidity and other environmental factors, stable performance.

3. Wide measuring range: a large range of acceleration can be measured.

Disadvantages of quartz accelerometer:

1. Large size: there are certain limitations in miniaturization applications.

2. High cost: the manufacturing process is complex, resulting in relatively high cost.

3. High power consumption: it’s not applicable in some scenarios that require harsh power consumption.
